Traveling with your FPV drones can be problematic. A proper FPV backpack can significantly change your workflow and the comfort of your FPV excursions. While a backup solution of any backpack or bag may seem like a good idea, you quickly realize the differences from backpacks designed specifically for FPV pilots. A proper FPV backpack can get you through airport security and the next hike to the bando with your full gear without a hitch.
"Ok, I'm convinced... but how do I choose the best FPV backpack?"
Well, let us explain:
First, you need to decide what general purpose you want the backpack for. Are you a content creator, a race pilot or do you just fly for fun? Make a list of things you normally bring on a flying day or put it next to you so you can see how much equipment you actually have at the start. Are there lots of cameras and gadgets? Maybe even a whole box of spare parts? We'll come back to that in a moment. But let's start with the basics:
We place great importance on safety and clever storage options. If you're planning to travel by plane, you might be interested in our video with important tips for air travel. An essential item is a good LiPo safety bag. If you're looking for something simple and don't plan on traveling far with your drones, a bag like the TBS LiPo-Safe is sufficient. However, if you are planning air travel or further excursions, we strongly recommend the TORVOL LiPo Safe bag in full size or miniature size. The reason? This bag has been extensively tested and proven to be fireproof. It's also easy to open from the top, which helps tremendously at the airport. Trust me, LiPos look a bit like C4 in the scanner. If they go through and security immediately see that they're batteries, there's a better chance you won't be questioned.
It would not be an exaggeration to say that the TORVOL PitStop Pro is the most popular and best designed FPV racing backpack. But I bet you can get creative - Lexie). It also comes with a laptop compartment. This is one of the most excellent backpacks for videographers and content creators. I travel everywhere with mine and the craftsmanship of this backpack is fantastic for long and short trips. The backpack also has chest straps (and a hip belt in the standard version) to help you on longer walks and hikes.
The TORVOL Adventure backpack is another version that is slightly simpler and more affordable. This backpack is slightly smaller and lighter. It features a fully customizable main compartment, a flap with a small storage compartment, a top-folding pocket that is great for smaller gear or snacks, and a rain cover on the bottom. The side pocket can be used for flat essentials. The backpack itself can carry one or two drones on the outside.
Depending on the size of your equipment, you can choose between the PitStop Pro, Explorer, Adventure, Urban or Quad Day backpack. As we have already talked about the PitStop Pro, Explorer and Adventure, we will now turn our attention to the Urban series.
